On Vacation? Let Piper Keep an Eye on Your Home!

June 23, 2015
In this day and age, most of us know someone who has dealt with a home break-in. When I was in college, my roommate and I returned from Christmas break to discover our apartment had been ransacked. With no witnesses, no finger prints, no video or pictures, the crime went unsolved. If only I had owned a Piper nv back then!

Piper is a super easy-to-use, affordable security system that has brought me a new level of comfort regarding the safety of my home and family. Piper's sleek design seamlessly blends in with my home decor and its ability to contact me via text or phone call means that I'll always be aware if there is an unexpected movement or noise in my home. It also will contact me if there's a drastic change in temperature which is a great feature if you're away from home for an extended time. We have a few vacations planned for this summer and should our AC stop working, Piper will notify me so I can get it taken care of quickly instead of coming home to a sweltering house! And in case of a power outage, Piper has a backup battery so your house will remain secure.

Piper nv has night vision so I'm able to check in on our home via my phone or tablet 24/7. I can also sign other folks up to my account so my husband can check in on our home from his phone. Piper offers a number of accessories, including door/window sensors that let you know when they are open and dimmers for your lights. I LOVE the dimmer! We have a lamp that we tend to forget about so it stays on 24/7. What a waste of electricity! With the Piper dimmer, I've set a time for it to come on at night and another time for it to go off in the morning. It can also sense if the room has gotten unusually dark and will turn the lamp on. Love this feature!

So how does all of this work? You plug it in, sign into a free app, follow a few simple directions to customize your settings and boom, you're done! (Ex. When my Piper is set on "away" mode and there's movement in the house, I have my settings customized to begin recording, sound the alarm and text me.) When you leave the house, you set your Piper on "away" or "vacation" mode and relax knowing you will be notified if anything happens.

I have our Piper in our main living space which is also near our front door. If I wanted to view what was happening in other areas of my home, I could link up to 5 Pipers to my account. This is a nice option for people with larger homes or multiple entries that they'd like security for.

This all sounds great, right? Here's the best part - once you've purchased a Piper (starting at $199), that's it. You have a security system with no monthly fees! Feel safe and secure without breaking the bank!
