June 2016 Consumer Recalls

June 28, 2016

POSSIBLE SPOILAGE
Bolthouse Farms
has voluntarily recalled a selection of protein drinks due to possible spoilage that may cause the beverages to appear lumpy, taste unpleasant and have an off odor. The recall includes Protein PLUS shakes with 'best by' dates between 6/20/16 to 9/18/16 and some Mocha Cappuccino products. See the full list of affected products here. If you have any of these products, do not consume them! Instead return them to the store of purchase for a full refund. For more information, call 866.535.3774.

POSSIBLE LISTERIA RISK
National Frozen Foods Corporation has recalled a limited quantity of Not-Ready-To Eat frozen green peas and frozen mixed vegetables because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Brands included in this recall are Bountiful Harvest, First Street, Great Value, Live Smart, Market Pantry and Sprouts Farmers Market. The products being recalled were distributed in retail stores nationwide between September 2, 2015, and June 2, 2016. A full list of affected products can be seen here. For more information, call 800.253.8269.

TIP-OVER HAZARD
Ikea
has recalled 28 million chests and dressers due to a serious tip-over risk. The recall affects children’s chests and dressers taller than 23.5 inches and adult chests and dressers taller than 29.5 inches that do not meet the performance requirements of the U.S. voluntary industry standard. The recalled MALM chests and dressers were manufactured and sold through June 2016 and include the 3-drawer, 4-drawer, 5-drawer and 6-drawer models. Other IKEA chests and dressers in this recall were sold at various times through June 2016. If you own one of these dressers, immediately stop using if it is not anchored to the wall. Move it to an area that is not accessible to children and call 866.856.4532 for a choice between two options: a free wall-anchoring repair kit or a full or partial refund.

Tommee Tippee®

FIRE HAZARD
Auldey Toys
has issued a recall on their Aero Spin and Aero Cruz Sky Rover remote-controlled flying toys. The USB charging cords sold with the toy can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards. VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LEAD PAINT STANDARD
Far East Brokers

The screen-printing on the fabric of the chairs and swings contains excessive levels of lead, which is a violation of the federal lead paint standard. If you own one of these products, immediately take it away from children and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. For more information, call 888.753.9040.
